Mal de Debarquement Syndrome

in #vacation7 years ago

I'm just coming off a delightful 7-day cruise on the Disney Fantasy. The vacation, after an extremely challenging year, was desperately needed. Truly, we had a delightful time.

Mal de Debarquement (MDD) syndrome makes coming off the cruise somehow dramatic and glamorous. I am here to tell you that MDD, or land sickness, is definitely not glamorous. The feeling of nausea, headaches, and the sense of pitching and rolling definitely serve to make you feel extra terrible about coming back to work.

All I can say is at this point is "Happy Holidays" and "Does anyone have any ginger tea?"

I had a house boat and experienced this many times! It's so weird. I'd be at home in the shower and would almost fall over because I could feel the rocking of the boat! But was usually fine on the boat. Lol.

It is a weird feeling! I asked my doctor if she'd prescribe me Zofran for the trip and I didn't need it at all. Which is nice, because I think now that probably I'll need it to help me get back to "normal."

Also, living on a house boat sounds like it would be so fun!

Sea legs are a crazy feeling (on land).
It looks like you all had a good time. A family cruise would be nice.

The house boat was for fun. I did live on it last July though while I was getting it ready to sell. I didn't get tired of it. ;-)

Amazing post , thank you so much !
