Folks,
Being rabidly Pro-Vaccine is a religion.
Treat it as such.
It has nothing to do with a knowledge of physiology or biological processes and everything to do with the idea that centralized action is not just necessary but actually righteous when done in the name of protecting the group. That's why those who believe that the collective is more important than the individual also believe that the collective knows more than the individual, which is why they arrogantly and flippantly dismiss any personal experiences with vaccines.
To them, the "scientists" are the priests, and the "priests" said that vaccines are holy, and if you attack vaccines, you are essentially attacking their "God" by attacking the wisdom of the priests.
They will defend vaccines and their science (like AGW) to their dying breath no different than any other cult would defend its holy truth.
Think you are going to get anywhere trying to use logic and reason with a cult member?
LOL.
It's a religion. Treat it as such.
Ignore the trolls. They are just like those people on the street corner with their signs screaming at you about how evil you are. Those folks on the street corners are not there to "help" you -- screaming at the heathen is what makes them feel good about themselves, it's something they do for their God to demonstrate how much they love him. It is simply a personal demonstration of their faith. It has everything to do with them and nothing to do with you.
Ignore the trolls.
Love the analogy
