RE: Flu vaccine and a real life adverse reaction

in #vaccines7 years ago

as a nurse could you please tell me if people at the facility you worked at were incentivized to give people flu shots?
The way they rabidly push them on you is really confusing, I can't understand why they make such a fight when I refuse.
I imagine theres a bulletin board in the nurse's lounge with every nurse and doctor's name and a drawing of a syringe under it and every time they give a flu shot they color in one more line on the syringe and the first one to fill it wins a vacation to hawaii or an amazon gift card or something.(of course I'm joking) but I'm seriously asking if they were pressuring you to pressure the patients into getting these shots.
I'm resteeming this because I think it's criminal to force someone to get one like in your case and I feel it's predatory when they get all pushy to patients, I thrive on conflict so I have no trouble standing up to them but i imagine all the nice mild mannered and trusting people that fall for it and I worry that there may be some nefarious purpose behind these shots.
I hope you get better soon I'm sending out positive vibes to you.

I apologize for the late response since I have been running on burnout. Currently Physicians are incentivized through MIPS and MACRA
A program that was instituted by Nancy Pelosi and John Boehner,http://www.practicefusion.com/blog/what-is-macra-and-mips/ The more you "sell" the more you make.

No worries on the delay, I hope you are getting plenty of rest , thank you so much for that valuable info!!! i resteemed it.

You are so kind. It has been a little bit chaotic lately with my friend being in need.

When you research MIPSand MACRA you will see there is more upselling involved there and it effects the providers bottom line. As a matter of fact my personal physician, whom I thought was my friend, told me that he did not think he would be able to help me any more because I refused further vaccines. But he does have three children in college. lol

Thank you for your comments and resteem. It came down to get your flu shot or you would be fired. Unfortunately I have no recourse. Even though I filed a VAERS form I can't get it documented in my health record my continuing health problems are from the flu shot.

Thanks for sharing this story.

Thank YOU for taking the time to read it and comment. Followed you in return.

No! No one is getting kickbacks for vaccines.

I haven't been able to find any evidence that they have yet but I did find this >>

Individual hospitals may have at one time incentivized employees, now mandatory.

This is different than physicians being incentivized to push vaccines.

Hospitals really believe they are doing the right thing.

That's an interesting post and comment history you have there mcmullen :D
