Do Some Research Before You Buy Flowers:
I have found that flowers for those time of year can be quite costly if you have someone arrange them for you! Today I went to my local H___S T__T__R grocery store, and found the prices outrageous! A single arrangement could easily put you back between $20 - 50 bucks, to me that just insane! Instead I went and look at the loose flowers for making your own arrangement and found that it was around $4 for a couple of each flowers (except Hydrangeas) which you got one bloom for $4 a piece these are my wife Betsy's favorite so I bought 2 of those, plus 1 set of 3 sunflowers, and 1 set of 4 Chrysanthemums. This gave me a grand total of $16, which is huge savings of at least $34 on the higher end of pre-made bouquets.
If You Want To Go Extra Special:
If you want to your flowers to be even more special than you can look for local growers, or rainforest alliance certified flowers. These flower sometimes cost more, but you are supporting your local growers and protecting the rainforest at the same time! I've been on a tight budget recently so, I opted to not go this route this time around, but I did save a substantial amount of money by arranging my own bouquet of flowers for my wife! Plus it's a win to show your wife that you really care, by showing you can do things on the cheap, and showing your artist talents at the same time! Next time you have a special event and want to purchase flowers for someone, be sure to checkout the single flower section in your local grocery store and make your own arrangement! I hope that this gives some of y'all a new idea in celebrating Valentine's Day!!
Cheers all,
Robert
Beautiful. When I got married my mother did the same for my bouquet. She picked and made it wrapped the ribbon all.
That's a good idea! @ironshield
