Though I fail often, I try to think of what the reader would want to hear and not just what I think is good.
Perhaps it is about finding both points, your own first which leads into a more authentic relationship with the audience.
I suppose that marketers do the same but they do it for financial profit rather mental advancement for all.
Yep, they do which is why they are so good at selling nonsense no one really needs. Part of the problem :)
