@deeanndmathews @shanibeer @macchiata I have taken some initiatives in India to put Hive's name out there. Almost no one knew about Hive in India at the start of this year, but now we get mails asking us to attend conferences or partner up with blockchain events happening here.
We started off by targeting technical university students and having them take part in hackathons, where they were to build dapps on Hive. From there our network expanded and we onboarded quite a few writers. But the problem always revolved around retention. So we changed our approach a bit.
Now we are targeting college societies that are into writing and other cultural programs. We onboard them and ask them to post on Hive on a regular basis.
Even in hackathons, to retain the young developers, we have changed our approach a bit.
Also, we are now targeting bigger conferences where key figures in the blockchain industry are present.
The Asian conferences you mentioned are definitely places Hive should be present, but as you can see, it's been less than 9 months since we started focussing a bit on Asian countries, especially India.
Hopefully, by next year, Hive will be present everywhere and people will be talking about us and all the features we have to offer.
Token2049 that happened in Singapore would have been a really good platform for us to be at. I really hope we will be there at this event and other major events next year for sure.
👍
This is good -- we need to see more of this! Since Valueplan has cleared the return proposal this morning, we definitely need to see more of this! I would love to see all of you go get what you need of that 200,000 HBD the community has just permitted VP to access.
India, Nigeria, Indonesia -- that's where Chainalysis says we need to be focusing right now (and, of course, I will speak up for the United States, in place 4), without forgetting the UK at place 12 (and I think Venezuela is in place 11, but Venezuela is not letting itself be overlooked anyhow on Hive)!
