How to make vape boxmod your own hands: ideas from improvised materials

in #vape7 years ago (edited)

Good morming brothers and sisters!

Long time l wanted to share one cool idea how to make vape boxmod by yourself, that l found out in my technical college from another students. Let's go!

Warning: Explosive

For start work you need to prepare everything you need, namely, consumables. We'll do BoxMod for two 18650 batteries with a transistor.

A lot of different assembly schemes (if interested - write in comments) is on the Internet, it's easy to find.

Necessary materials for work:

  1. Connector 510 (there are two types of connectors, differing in size of the diameter);
  2. Button. It is advisable not to neglect the quality of this part and take into account the power of your mod. Buttons can be plastic and metal in different colors - it's a matter of taste;
  3.  Battery frame. The simplest and necessarly detail;
  4. Box. Without it, you will not assemble self-made boxmod. Again, a lot of variations with the material and color scale (it can be wood or even a botlle, cartonbox from old technic,  soap-dish ).
  5. Wires for connecting parts of the device - their thickness is selected individually for your boxmod (as an example, you can take single-core copper wire thickness of 1 mm);
  6. Mosfet-transistor (not a problem to find on any radio market or you can take it from an old motherboard). You can take exchange it to K 3918, IRLB3036PbF, IRF3107, IRl3803, IRF1404  transistors;
  7. Foiled textolite;
  8. Thermocouples;
  9. Batteries 18650 ( not nesessarly to take a new one - you can take it from a laptop, for example)
  10. Soldering iron.

The rest is your fantasy and ability to implement it. Next, I will tell you how to make a boxmode using the Power Bank battery pack (China). Making a boxmod by one of the ways

Why is the Power Bank? Convenient in that it's contains the necessary space for the corresponding parts. If you've all materials, you can start working with it:

Saw a small rectangular piece of textolite, drill a hole in it.

Take a connector (probably from the old e-cigarette, which you don't use anymore) and solder it in the textolite at the place of the hole. The resulting part is placed on the hot melt and fix on the body of the boxmod.

A homemade boxmod, like any other, should have a button - also install it on the body. Solder the transistor to a textolite with a connector.

In fact, the battery mode by the hands  is almost ready  - it only remains to assemble the case, insert the batteries and check the device in action.

Boxmod is conveniently placed in the hand and thanks to the mini-USB connector allows you to charge the batteries without removing them from case. Agree, it turned out to be a very convenient and practical thing with a minimum cost. Also process of manufacturing is so simple that you can easily cope with it!
