There is a difference
and if you can't see it
There is something wrong with you.
If your posting was an attempt to convert people, well, you just failed BIG TIME. Shaming someone into accepting your viewpoint doesn't work.
Take me, for instance, i have trouble pruning trees because it hurts. But, helping the tree to grow better is important to me, so i do it. I literally feel the pain of the plants. I also know that they are in a symbiotic relationship with me so that we nourish each other.
The same can be said with animals.
So, your message not only doesn't move me toward your viewpoint, it pushes me away.
We are born into this world as free, sovereign beings with no desire to rule our fellow man or to be ruled by others.
This is very much incorrect.
We are not born blank slates.
We have a lot of baggage from previous lives where it has been a dog eat dog life. Were it has been dominate or be dominated.
We have now past into a new epoc where we can overcome our base instincts. We have become technologically advanced enough so that there is enough food for everyone.
Now we begin the slow uncomfortable change (SUCk) where we develop new ways of dealing with others in win-win scenarios. Where we learn, really learn, that war doesn't get us anything that we want. That communication and comradery is a far better path.
However, what will you do in the near future as we plunge into an ice age? Where crop failure will be common. Power outages will be common. Transport failure will be common.
How will you discuss peaceful coexistence when there isn't enough food?
Do you have a green house already set and grown more than you need?
And lastly, i cannot survive on a Vegan diet.
So, what do you suggest to me?
Shall i stop raising chickens in a kind, pasture fed environment and then thanking them and killing them for my sustenance?
Or, since i can't be a Vegan, should i just go kill myself?
We have been conditioned by society and I have many friends and family who are not vegan.
Our own personal choices reflect our personal journeys.
I became vegan because I always questioned everything at a young age, from food to religion...
and I have been vegan for 15 years despite celiac disease.
You're right that we should not push anything down other people's throats.
The urgency is to avoid all the destruction and suffering to the animals and the planet.
@somethingburger talks about this in depth in his scientific posts.
