Another beautiful piece as always brother! The focus on how distressing even injuring an animal, much less killing one, is to humans of all ages (besides sociopaths) is a great point that is rarely focused on.
The extremely high levels of PTSD among slaughterhouse workers (and the military) is a clear indicator of how poorly humans are adapted to being violent.

Exactly. I believe suicide rates amongst slaughterhouses workers are really high. There's certainly nothing natural about our collective treatment of animals and of each other.
