🐺 πŸ‘ No Lambs (or Wolves) On This Menu! - I Try Out Wulf and Lamb's Delicious Vegan Food πŸ”πŸ₯—

Hey friends! Today I want to share with you a great recommendation for a vegan restaurant in London- the amazing, if slightly bizarrely named, Wulf And Lamb.

I have been wanting to try this place for absolutely ages but hadn't as it is a little more expensive than the places I usually go. However, a friend of mine just recently got engaged, so we decided to go out to celebrate! She is a vegetarian herself so it wasn't too much of a struggle to get her to agree to a restaurant that is 100% vegan.

Situated in a pedestrianised street off of London's posh Sloane Square, Wulf and Lamb is pretty tucked away and probably doesn't receive much foot traffic down the street. That clearly hasn't effected business as it was really busy the whole time we were there, the main dining area was packed which must be down to word of mouth from happy vegans!

Wulf and Lamb isn't just a restaurant, it also sells a variety of delicious baked vegan foods such as cakes, muffins, the most delicious Amaretti cookies EVER, as well as coffees, fresh juices and a range of vegan beers and wine. So as well as a heaving upstairs restaurant area, the downstairs area is constantly receiving people coming in to pick up a treat on the go!

Just look at these cakes! They are a little pricey but damn they look delicious.

The service style is relaxed and informal, you go up to the bar and order your food, they give you a number and then you can choose where to sit- upstairs or downstairs. We had a drink downstairs, then ordered food and went up to the more formal dining area upstairs.

It's funny, even though my friend is vegetarian and has been for over a decade, she still is slightly skeptical about veganism, and looking at the menu she was baffled as to how you could make vegan versions of certain things, mac 'n cheese being the source of most suspicion! I tried to convince her that it was possible to veganise pretty much anything! Still not fully convinced, we had to order the mac 'n cheese so I could hopefully change her mind!

Everything on the menu looked so yummy!

Being the burger fiend that I am, and always trying to find the ultimate burger, I of course went for the Wulf Burger, with a side of mac 'n cheese to share.

Look how amazing it all looks!

The Wulf Burger:

Seitan burger, topped with tomato, baby gem, pickle, red onion and cashew aioli in a brioche bun and plant-based cheese. Served with house sauerkraut and wedges.

Wow, just wow. What an incredible burger! I definitely made the right choice. The combination of cashew aioli and vegan cheese made this a succulent and decadent burger for sure, and the seitan burger had a nice 'meaty' texture and a barbecued flavour. The sauerkraut was a nice addition and had a slightly mustardy, spicy tang to it which complimented the burger well.

I really liked that instead of regular fries they serve a few rustic style chunky potato and sweet potato wedges, just enough as the burger is really filling!

Mac 'N Cheese:

The mac 'n cheese was definitely impressive, and my doubting friend seemed to come around a bit to the whole 'no cheese' element of veganism after tasting it. It has a really nice crispy topping and the flavour was pretty good but if I had to make one criticism it would be that the texture was just a little too gluey.

Two of us had the burger and both loved it, our other friend went for something different.

Green Coconut Curry:

Sweet potato mash and in-season vegetables, aromatic thai roots, spices and coconut cream with jasmine rice.

I'm really kicking myself that I didn't ask to try a bit of this! I was too engrossed in my amazing burger. She confirmed that is was really good though, and the side of char-grilled broccoli she had was surprisingly impressive.

I had an amazing first dining experience at Wulf and Lamb, it is the first 'fancy' vegan restaurant I've visited and I was really impressed with how high end it all felt but with really genuine, relaxed service which is a must for me.

The staff were really lovely and friendly, we ended up being the last people left at the end of the evening but they were really relaxed and at no point did we feel like they were trying to push us out.

Here's the completely deserted restaurant at the very end!

As we were leaving, one of the super awesome staff downstairs gave us some left over juices to take home, amazing! It came in handy too as I was far too full to order the amazing looking Tiramisu so this satisfied my craving for something sweet without busting the buttons on my jeans 😊

I'll definitely be returning to Wulf and Lamb at some point as there is lots more I'd like to try on the menu, but it is a little pricey so it won't be a frequent haunt of mine.

I'd definitely recommend it to any Londoners or visitors to the city in search of a slightly higher end vegan eatery with friendly, informal service- it's great!

You had me at Amaretti cookies! I haven't been able to find a Vegan version. Next time I'm over in London this will be a spot to check out. The food and interior look amazing!

Thanks for sharing this gem.

You definitely should, they are amazing! A colleague of mine buys them and is nice enough to share, they're about £4 for a bag but totally worth it for an occasional treat 😊

They could be a tenner and I'd still buy them πŸ˜‚.
