I've never had vegan fish...but I typically try to stay away from the faux meats products. That being said, I've had some decent ones, but I'm terrible at keeping track of brands.
What is the OMAD diet? I like food too much to only eat once per day, but I also enjoy mini fasts, so that might be nice.
Is the Beyond Burger the same as the Impossible Burger? I've been meaning to try that one. I think it's created by some celebrity chef, but I don't remember which one. Michael Simon maybe?
I only eat the faux meats occasionally as a sort of treat cause I enjoy the tastes from before i was vegan as bizarre as it sounds to me sometimes. Dunno why I would want to mimic the taste of dead animal flesh and secretions, but.. There's something psychological there sorta like a smoker who uses a patch to slowly help them wean off of it.
The OMAD is one meal a day.
Some people call it the warrior diet.
Some high level athletes do it, but.. I don't personally think it's the best.
I think 3-5 meals is more natural and healthy, however.. In the end.. OMAD has one thing on the others. And that's that beings tend to live longer the less they eat, studies on rats show this and I think there may be some human population studies as well.
But.. In the end, one BIG meal at the end of the day could be the same amount of food as 3-5 smaller ones. So not sure.. Depends on how you do it I guess.
Supposedly it's similar to the atkins low carb kind of diets in that you starve your body and it runs on it's own reserves rather than the food you eat.
This tends to cut out fatty areas more and make you more lean, and also purifies your body to an extent as you spend less time digesting and chewing and all that work the body does to eat.
I also hear testosterone is released when in that state, but.. I haven't admittedly got too deep into the research. I'm doing it mostly for money reasons. I feel it's cheaper and easier to just eat one big meal at the end of the day, than numerous smaller ones, plus.. I don't take naps anymore after eating in the daytime like I used to so I think it makes me a lot more productive.
However in the end.. I do think 3-5 smaller meals is prolly best.
Hope that helps!
And the beyond burger is different from the impossible one, I think something happened to the impossible one. Lemme google it real quick.

Not sure if it's out yet or not, but is' been delayed a while!
Also the beyond burger was just put up as an item in all the A&W restaurants in Canada which was a pretty big deal. Most of the vegans didn't like it though cause it has non vegan mayonnaise and they cook/cut/prepare them on the same surfaces as the animal products.
Thanks for that link! I've been wanting to try the Impossible Burger. It's been available in the Cleveland area for quite some time now. However, if it's linked to cancer, I'm thinking I might just keep putting it off for a little while longer.
I would love to eat just one meal a day. (As I type that I realize why it's called the OMAD diet... :-)) However, I like food too much to limit myself in that way. I much prefer to eat smaller snack throughout the course of a day, but I feel like I tend to put on weight that way, even if they are healthy snacks. It's like my stomach just adjusts for more food all the time and gets bigger and bigger so I'm hungry more and more often. I typically eat twice a day with coffee in the morning and a snack in the evening. It's not quite working though; I can feel the fat winning the battle and my pants getting tighter! Vegan diets are supposed to be healthy...well, all things in moderation, even vegetables!
My brother does the Keto diet and has had a lot of success. He's lost about 30 pounds and feels great. I considered a vegan-keto for a few minutes, but quickly decided that would never work out.
