I have been posting my meal ideas to Instagram under @feoilfreefamily for over 2 years now. My goal is to show that Vegan food is not all salads 🌱, is not a big jump from your "regular" food and is easy to make and enjoy.
Oh Feoil is Irish for meat, we are an Irish family who are proudly Vegan for the animals. You pronounce Feoil like Creole. Now you have learned a new Irish word too!
Here are 10 of my favourite meals. Most of these meals are made with speed in mind. We are all very busy people but getting good wholesome food is essential. Especially with young children who are on the go.
In our home we have 2 Boxing kids (8 and 10)🥊🥊 and an MMA fighting teen🥋. We are big outdoor people and love to be active🏋️🏋️♀️🏋️♀️. Becoming Vegan is by far the most positive thing we have ever done. We are all so full of life and energy that we simply have a wondrous Vegan glow that people always comment on!
So with that in mind, enjoy the salads below!🌱🌱
Cashew and Kale pesto with a side of Asparagus |
If you want to know more about the benefits of Asparagus you should check out this post by @thedrewtrott
Curried butternut squash soup with toasted pumpkin and sunflower seeds |
If you want to know more about why curry is a great addition to your diet check out this post by @ww17615.
Lasagne of the Gods! This is not a quick recipe but can be prepared at the weekend and freezes extremely well |
You can check out that recipe here
Artichoke and jalapeño pizza, every meal doesn't have to be clean! |
You can also have Vegan pizza dessert if you like, just ask @vegan.niinja
Lentil Dhal with brown rice and Indian sacks |
For info on how amazing Dhal is check out this post by @Eco-alex
Salad plate with avocado toast, I had to throw one salad in there 🤣🤣 |
This plate is full of colour, vitamins and minerals.
This plate could be described as a Detox plate, if you want to know more about the detoxifying properties check out Nicoleslife post on detox
7 bean chilli with corn and jalapeño fritters. One of my personal favourites |
If you want to know why you should have more beans in your life check out this post by @harrysteem. Beans are a great source of protein and use far less water, land and create far less pollution than their animal based counterparts.
Creamy sundried tomato and garlic fusilli |
Sundried tomatoes are a great source of lycopene for more on this see this very detailed post by @cancerdoctor. Most of us will know the benefits of garlic but this is a super addition. I may also be a garlic fiend too!
Sundried tomato and Chinken on a bed or thyme roast potatoes |
ok I'm just playing with you now! This is such a delicious meal it doesn't need any links.
Vegan Pad Thai! Oh man, I love Pad thai |
One thing that I missed was seafood but when you consider all the issues around seafood there really isnt any justifiable reason to continue. Here is a very interesting article about shrimp that you might want to read before you crack into another one!
LIKE WHAT YOU SEE?
Thanks for the plug man! Great recipes too. Would love to hear your thoughts about other foods I should cover 🤙🏼
No worries man. Got to help each other out when we can. Your page is rockin so no problem to recommend!
Great roundup of meals! It's nice for people to see such yummy variety that you can have in a vegan diet! :)
This is my number 1 goal. Simple easy to sub meals that you will not miss the meat in. As long as no animals were used I am a happy man.
I never missed seafood! :) Great collection of tasty meals!
Oh man, I was a real seafood fiend. My other half, not at all, so I rarely got to eat as much as I would have liked. Which was probably a good thing LOL.
Thanks for checking it out. Oh I love the rainbow waffles too. My Daughter would go crazy for them, we threw away our waffle iron ages ago but id say they would work as pancakes too.
All looks really good
Thanks for checking them out.
You are absolutely right. Vegan meals are so much more than salad and far from boring. Nice roundup of yummy looking meals.
Thanks for checking it out Amy, I think once people see that it isnt a huge change for them and infact it's probably tastier and healthier the choice is obvious.
All meals look really delicious :) It's so important that we share and inspire people to eat healthier and that you can thrive on a vegan diet :) Great job
Thanks a mill @nicoleslife. I think we need to get away from the "everything is green" image and show that Vegan is the future but it doesn't have to be a scary one. You can enjoy almost every flavour, texture etc without the senseless slaughter of billions of animals per year. How we do it now just isn't sustainable.
Thanks for checking it out too. Every comment and upvote helps loads.
So true :) Couldn't agree with you more :)
Wow these look amazing!
Hey @pinellaslisa thanks for checking them out and taking the time to comment too.
Just started to follow you @pinellaslisa I like the tacos! I have to say I am envious of your new location! I would love to live near the sea! Some day we will get there.
Take care.
Thank you! We love living near the beach. It has been my husband and I's goal since we met to live near the ocean and we are finally here!
Mmmm that pizza! I just did a post about pizza actually :-)
Oh yeah, pizza is the BOMB! I make a mean high protein base one too. Its really heavy and more like a pizza pie. Thin and crispy is fantastic though for quick cooking and even quicker eating.
Thanks for stopping by!
Ooooh what do you put in it to make it a high protein base? Would love to know!
I will use 1/2 either quinoa flower or Chickpea flower over white flour. As I say it works much better in a pizza pie application. You wont be running around after it!
Game. Changer. Thanks for this. I'm going to try it when I finally get an oven. (Living in Asia - limited ovens haha).
You are very welcome, I hope I'll have the full recipe up at some stage, I have too many to put up!
Some day!
Yes please. I'm going to follow you for more updates!
They all look so yummy! 🤤 Especially the pizza and lasagna. I love vegan cheese 🧀💚
Doctor... we have another cheese fiend!
I recommend 1 KG of your finest Gary stat!
Sooooo loving what I’m seeing on this post! It’s so fun being vegan because it constantly pushes you to be creative and to challenge yourself to think outside the box... literally lol. #VegansUnite #OutWithTheBad #InWithTheGood
Thanks a million for your kind words @daqueend. I think I actually live outside the box at this stage. It's great but not hard at all. A lot of people think that you have to be restrictive. I don't think like that. I think like I don't want to eat animals so everything else is easy street.
Exactly! It’s all about mindset. Once you open your mind to any and all possibilities then the rest is a gravy journey, lol. The thing I keep in mind is there are still so many vegetables, fruits, spices and herbs to try out.. many of which aren’t even found in America. Sooner or later more and more people will catch on. I have faith people will wisen up, until then I will continue to spread the love of veganism to people I know and come across.
Church, too many nice plants to eat in this world to be bothering the other animals.
You have a great day @daqueend!
Indeedy!! Thanks and you do the same @moonunit
The recipe looks very delicious thank you for sharing
You are very welcome, I hope you stick around for some delicious hearty recipes!
I will be there following your upcoming recipes.
Thanks a million, I hope I can help you with that.

I love the variety of meals you’ve posed here. And that Pad Thai, I’m drooling lol. I’m wondering where you found vegan shrimp, and is there one brand that you prefer over others?
Oh great, I just want to show people that Vegan does not mean salads ETC.
The brand I have in that Pad thai are from Three Coconut Tree. They are ridiculously close to shrimp but without the badness that goes with them. They are a mix of konjac root and others. Where are you based, I might be able to help you source it.
Thanks for checking out the post I do hope you enjoyed it.
