Farm animals are typically viewed as money making products or assets and not living creatures that feel and suffer in similar ways to humans. I have very little confidence in government doing anything significant to change the way animals are treated. I think it is great that the level of awareness in the world is increasing. Most people don't want to pay for cruelty. I believe that the rise in veganism is a strong indication of that.
