We recently got a new food processor so we've been blending everything! Of course we had to make hummus... a lot of hummus. This recipe was our favorite and it's whole food plant based! The only oil in this recipe is from the tahini sauce, which is just blended sesame seeds and is much different than vegetable oils. Vegetable oils are the fats extracted from the whole plant. This process removes any amino acids, nutrients and of course fiber, which plays a part in controlling blood sugar and cholesterol levels. All of the hummus recipes I came across had vegetable oil so I decided to create a whole food plant based recipe. This hummus is so simple, you'll love it!
Ingredients
- 1 can chickpeas
- 1/4 cup tahini
- 6 cloves garlic
- 1 tbsp paprika
- 3 tbsp lemon juice
- 1/4 tsp salt
- water
- pine nuts (garnish)
- parsley (garnish)
Instructions
- Add all of the ingredients to a food processor and puree. Add water until desired consistency is reached.
- Garnish with paprika, pine nuts and parsley.
It's that easy!
Nice!
I gonna try it.
It's amazing how quick, easy, and delicious this recipe is.
