Great article. I took an Animal Rights class in law school from an attorney named Steven Wise. He travels to different jurisdictions and argues on behalf of animals through a legal process called habeus corpus. To me there is just no excuse to enslave an animal and exploit an animal for mere entertainment. And really, we can do without the exploitation of animals for all these pointless medications too. Pain and suffering for an animal is the same as for a human. A back bone and central nervous system acts in the same. Depression still exists. I consider myself pretty libertarian, but I'd argue the basic right to roam free for animals should exist if we are going to have a society.

Thanks @thunderbirdcomic. There is still so much animal abuse happening in the world. Every animal should have the right to be free. Every animal should be treated with respect. I will take a look at the link you shared.
The link isn't really important. Just thought you may have heard of the guy. He was in the news a lot when he filed a lawsuit to free a Chimp in New York. Was even a guest Colbert Report while it was going on.
