When a good friend of you would all the sudden turn vegetarian or even worse vegan you would probably be hit by surprise.
No wonder, I mean, just why would anybody do that, right?
A few years a go, hell to be honest half a year ago, I would have probably been just as suprised as anybody else. I just didn't get why and how anybody could give up meat, but then, about 4 months ago everything changed...
I had always laughed at vegetarians, until my sister, who had been a vegetarian for years, challenged me. She told me, that I would not be able to stay on a vegetarian diet for even a week!
Well another few months passed and I kept on eating meat (mostly because I was living at a host-family at that time).
But once I came back to Austria I started cutting down on my meat consumption.
At first I only ate meat when it was implemented in a meal (no snacks nor ham), then only on sundays and then finally only once or twice a month.
During this time I also started getting more and more information about the effects of meat on the environment, the way meat is produced and the health risks linked to the consumption of animal products.
All this just seemed crazy:
I saw videos of cruel farming conditions just to find out that this was the standard, I read that cattle alone contributes to 17% of all the earths greenhouse gasses produced and I even learned about the link between cadiovascular desease and animal protein consumption.
After all this there was no way back. I completly stopped eating meat and harshly cut down on my diary and egg consumption.
Of course this was hard at first, but to me it seemed like the only right thing to do.
This is now about 3 months ago and since then, I have lost bodyfat, gained muscle and been fitter than ever before whilst eating huge amounts of delicious food.
This might sound to good to be true, but let me assure you, it is not!
Once you make the cut to a clean, meat-free diet, staying in shape becomes easier than you think.
Going vegetarian/vegan helped me become more health conscious and to be honest had a magnificent impact on my entire life. I have become way more active, more efficient, more mindful and stopped caring so much about what others think of me and all of that in no more than 3 months!
So if you want to get all these benefits, whilst also doing good, for the planet, the animals, your body and your decendents, you now know what to do!
THIS IS ONLY PART 1 OF 3.
PART TWO WILL CONTAIN A LISTS OF GREAT REASONS TO GO VEGETARIAN/VEGAN.

This is it for today.
Thanks a lot for taking your precious time to read this post
Greetings from Vienna :)
Alex
Loved the post buddy. You got me 10% closer to going vegetarian. It's really tough for me but at least I know in my head that it's the right thing to do!
Awesome-sauce! Thank you for starting this series (as promised in your introduction post. Way to follow through like a boss!)
Truth be told, I'm in the middle of my "carnism" transition (currently off meat except fish once a week, with dwindling use of eggs and dairy), and it's one of the craziest head trips for me, because I LOVE MEAT and have always agreed with @unprovoked until about 2 weeks ago. So again--thanks for writing. :D
Good luck to ya. Let us know how it goes.
Thanks man, will do. For the record, I've got pot roast cooking for the rest of my family and it smells f*cking delicious... lol. To hell with AA. We need support groups for people quitting meat and sugar.
Ouh, I know what you are talking about, sugar addiction nowadays is, especially in childs and teenagers, a very wide spread diesease, I am very intrested in that topic as well, I might make a post about it one day if you like :)
thanks you for your gracious comment, I love all your support :)
I still don't understand how people give up meat. It's a far off thought for me personally.
Yea, I know it can be hard to get it, this is why I will make a list of reasons to do so, tomorrow
I will try to make some valid points for each and everybody :)
Well one reason might be for your health, for the animals who also have a life. Those would be the main reasons, but also the environment too, your childrens futures. Meat is just a flavour and now in 2017 we already have burgers that taste identical to meat and actually even have blood pouring out of them.
Yea that's true, you can find quite some more reasons in the post I published today :D
