Everytime I see Vans like this one I start dreaming again. I remember the good times we had in our Vans while traveling Australia.

We had a lot of trouble with all these old cars and still I like ti remember these times.
Looking foreward to buy the next one end of the year.
Und weil ich gerade so in Erinnerungen schwelge, werde ich einige Eindrücke von unseren australischen Reisefahrzeugen posten.
Wir hatten viel Ärger mit all diesen alten Autos und trotzdem erinnere ich mich gerne an diese Zeiten.
Ich freue mich darauf, das nächste Ende des Jahres zu kaufen.

A Ford Econovan from 1996. We bought this van from a older couple who has just converted it into a camper, but then realized they are to old for it.

A Mitsubishi Express we bought empty and built a simple bed frame inside. He was a bit of a asshole and actually was making trouble all the time. But hey he was running until the end and we could even sell him.

cooles Teil. Wir hatten so ein uuuuuralt Teil bei unserer Reise durch Kenia und vorallem Uganda in Afrika. Das war aber ein alter geschraubter Mitsubishi oder Toyota. Leider habe ich da kein Foto mehr. ich weis noch er war gelb und blau und rauchte fürchterlich. Alte Dieselschleuder, haha
danke @followmikecee. Ich nehme mal an in Kenia und Uganda haben sie es damals (sowie vermutlich auch heute) nicht ganz so ernst mit TÜV genommen. Da ging bestimmt auch mal altes Frittenfett in den Tank! 😁

TÜV? Ha ha. Das Wort gibt es glaube ich bis heute nicht dort. Wir hatten unheimlich viel Spass auf unsern 2500 Km quer durch die Perlen von Ostafrika.
ich hab mal ein bisschen gegoogelt. Genau so ein Teil hatten wir, einfach noch mit Gelb und ein wenig modifiziert. Geiles Gefährt:

yes, some were not really funny, at least not in the first moment. Today we can laugh about it.
I can only imagine how awful it was at the time. We once had the brakes go out on a rental car on twisty mountain roads with no guard rails in Greece, and then had to wait for 2 days before they could bring us a replacement car. I hate mechanical problems!
