Every car guys(or gals) dream is to find that "needle in the haystack" car. The car that fuels teenagers dreams, the car that keeps you up late at night reading old issues of Hot Rod magazine. The "barn find" can be any old car or truck that has been tucked away and forgotten, sometimes used as shelving or tucked under a tarp in someones backyard.
Today I will show off a 1969 Ford Mustang Mach1 that was last plated in '91.
The hood scoupe still has one of it's 351 badges.
Some kind of vegation has grown into the vintage 14" ET wheels.
What could be more vintage than these shackles! You can quickly raise the back of the car to fit bigger tires if you wanted to hit the strip on friday night.
It's no surprise that the engine is out. It is a Ford after all...
The interior is complete but a little ratty, a few tears in the seats.
Before and after shot? Nah the orange car is a '70 with a pile of cash into it, but they are very close to the same car.
Neither car is mine, nor do I want a Mustang in my life but they are both fantastic machines. Have you ever found a "barn find" car?
All photos are taken by me @edthecanadian with my Samsung Galaxy S6 in my workplace in Saskatoon.
What a piece of machinery, considering it's age really the condition is incredible - will you get this back into running condition again?
#thealliance
We dont have plans for it yet. Likely it will be up for sale as is with the option of us doing some or all necessary repairs.

That's a real beauty there. Best barn find I ever heard was my buddies dad had tucked away a 454 t top transam from 76 away in a barn when the kids were born, and finally handed the keys over to my buddy last year.
Man that would be a sweet gift!
Same buddy inherited a barn find 1948 Harley Davidson 125cc from his grandpa... Some guys have all the luck.
Nice car dude!
Wish I had one..haha
Mustangs can be quite a headache as a project, but when rebuilt correctly they can be a fun car.
Nice mustang. I'm not much of a Ford fan either. Last barn find I came across was my 1963 VW Bug. Hadn't seen the light of day since 1981. That's the car I'll be building this summer.
I'm ready to see the swap build up.
There's nothing like a muscle car. I wish I found a barn car. Didn't even know they existed @edthecanadian!!!
Get out there and find one! I'm looking for a 1991 Honda Civic hatchback.
I'm in need of a personal drone
That's a nice looking machine. I've always wanted a project car. I'll have to start making more farmer friends I guess. 😉
Beautiful car @edthecanadian. Very nice. Love me some old 'stangs
Modified version of 87' Buick Grand National called Buick Grand National GNX. At the time the GNX was fastest Amecian made car from 0-60 including the corvette.
Only 547 were made
Way back in high school('96) a buddy had a Regal(same body style) with a very healthy 350. We thought we were tuff stuff cruising around in that car until a t-type toyed with us and absolutly embarased our hot rod.
There is a gnx around here at shows once in a while.
Great find! I remember the muscle car that was given to my parents in 1981, a 72 gran torino sport, red, and it had a 351 cleveland in it. That thing was FAST. Much more power than the 66 chevelle we had. I loved driving it to high school as all the guys wanted to know who drove that car (I never told lol)
The Torino was faster than a Chevelle? Did the chev have a 6 cylinder?!
Haha- thanks for checking out my rambles.
BTW the Chevelle had an 8 cylinder small block. My dad would regularly pull it and rebuild it at 100,000 miles...
Well we never officially raced them to find out, LOL. The 66 Chevelle was a 2 door, small block engine (283?) and was a clutch three speed on the column. The Gran Torino sport was an automatic and it was powerful. When my dad would lay into it, we were stuck as in G force plastered to the seat (my dad thought that was funny, so did we kids, but my mom did not lol). The 66 Chevelle never did that to us on that scale . As to Gran Torinos, my grand parents had a 1972 4 door Gran Torino, and it had the same engine in it (the 351 cleveland) as the Gran Torino sport. I had drove their Gran Torino transporting my grand mother back and forth up and down the highway to my Aunt's for a few years. One day after I had dropped her off, I was coming down the highway by myself. This corvette pulled up beside me, and the driver was flagging me to race. I wouldn't because it was my grand mother's car lol!
I once had an MG Midget that I worked on for months. Little things like taking off the door panels and tightening things, and cleaning up the trunk, etc. It was a lot of work but fun to drive in the convertible.
Everyone seems to love those little cars. I've yet to play with one.
Nice! Always love Mustangs! I finally got to drive a new one last month.

Mustangs are a great looking car, I like these older stangs. We are starting to see a lot of the late model stangs on our roads in the last few years over here in Australia, cheers mate.
