This was an old bug I saw parked in old town Fort Collins.
Big boy number 4004, in Cheyenne. One of only 8 that are still intact today.
Standing 16 feet (4.94m) tall, and weighing a massive 1,250,000 lb (567,000 kg), these were the largest steam locomotives ever built. It was design to carry fright over the Wasatch mountains along a route that winds through southern Wyoming and into Utah, that would normally require 2 or 3 locomotives.
