Yes it is sad what BMW did to the mini. They don't hold true to the original as an affordable car for everyone. BMW (aka broke my wallet) went upper class and charge a fortune for them to me they destroyed the mini concept and as you say they are rather crap to. Though they are much bigger on the out side they have less room inside how does that happen:(

By cramming in lots of electrics nobody asked for, they almost ruined Land Rover also, though Ford stepped in and bought it off them when I was parts quality manager at Land Rover a few years ago.

True that mate, electrics are great when they work and a right pain in the you know what when they start to play up. I like that my new to me motorhome is an old school simple vehicle with a simple non electronic diesel engine etc :) i belive under Ford ownership things got better for Land rover. BMW must be the European version of GM anything GM gets into they managed to wreck it some how.

Ford only bought Land Rover to sell off land and get their money back, they then sold at 100% profit to TATA of India, only then did it get better as TATA pumped millions into the place, rebuilding old run down buildings, and making a engine design and manufacturing plant in Wolverhampton, so Land Rover could once more make it's own engines, instead of buying old units off Ford, and before that Bmw. :-) (I spent around 20 years on and off at Land Rover)

Thanks for that info and somewhat surprised TATA invested the much into it and kept it in the UK.

LOL they are opening a factory next door in Slovakia next year, I have been offered to help set up the quality department, I might, if they pay me enough, and if I only have to fly over for a day a week. (and not pay tax)

Nice to get the offer mate :) i just got a new job and start tomorrow sorting out the warehousing and inward goods for a company i used to work for many years ago.
