I don’t write very well. Usually, I just share links, or memes on my various social media accounts. I started my Wordpress, late last year, after finding out about the 2014 soft coup in Ukraine. After seeing reports, from Independent Journalists, along with reading reports, I just knew that the U.S. government was dirty enough to do something like that. Fast forward five years, and it’s happening again, this time in Venezuela. By now, I know that the government has done this many times, before, especially in Central America. Except this time, the current administration is being extremely transparent about what they are doing!
The U.S. Government has actually been trying to overthrow the Venezuelan Government since Hugo Chávez was elected President in 1998. In all honesty, I don’t know the exact details of Hugo Chávez’s Presidency. I do know that his policies were good for the working poor, and indigenous people, in Venezuela, unlike the previous governments. Shortly after he took office, in 1999, he created a new constitution, with a 71.8% approval by vote. Then he started on Plan Bolívar 2000, by having military members repair the infrastructure of Venezuela. They also went door to door, offering free vaccinations, medical care, food distribution, and education. He had several phases to his anti-poverty plan, which included free daycare. To pay for these programs, he nationalized the natural resources of Venezuela. He also made the corrupt banks, and businesses, public, to benefit the working poor, as they had been ripping them off. Of course, the opposition wasn’t happy with this, as many were the elite benefiting from the corrupt businesses.
Most of the Chavistas still support Maduro, because he was also one of their own, and was picked by Chávez as his replacement. Despite the Western media claiming that his last election wasn’t legitimate, it was! In fact, there were many nations that observed the election. The UN had sent in an independent observer, who was also there to investigate the human rights violations that were reported by the opposition. In fact, the United States bribed candidate, Henri Falcon, not to participate in the election!
Right now, it doesn’t look like the coup is working, from the inside, and Maduro didn’t fall for the “Humanitarian Aid” trick, that Elliott Abrams tried. While there’s no proof, yet, that he sent troops or weapons with the humanitarian aid, it’s well known that he’s done it in the past.
One thing that makes me mad, is that there is not one mainstream media source, in the USA, reporting anything near the truth on this, or the 2014 attempt! That was an inside coup that was tried by Leopoldo López, and his group, hoping that Maduro would resign if there was enough violence going on. David Smolansky, former mayor of Hatillo, recently met with Elliott Abrams. He was also one, involved in the violence of the 2014 protests and is wanted for his crime of “refusing to obey the Supreme Court order to stem political violence in his municipality.” In fact he told his supporters to continue their anti-government demonstrations, while he fled the country. He is currently living in America, in exile, after reporting that he his home was broken into, for political reasons and religious intolerance. Basically, he is Jewish and and accused the Venezuelan Government of being anti-Semitic. Other accusations, by the Confederation of Jewish Associations of Venezuela are that government media sources are anti-Semitic. I’ll let anyone that reads this decide what they think, as I am just learning about the details along the Gaza Strip. I grew up a Christian, and taught that Jerusalem was the promised land, there are many things that are hard to digest. Back to Venezuela, what I do find odd, is that the Catholic Church reported “social media and press attacks on members of the clergy by pro-government sympathizers and cases of vandalism of church property,” when the majority of the country is Catholic. Then again, “media outlets reported that pro-government sympathizers in Merida assaulted four young Catholic seminary students, accusing them of participating in an opposition rally.“
The Venezuelan “coup” is not over, even though the Summit in Warsaw, Poland, was all about Netanyahu rallying support for a war against Iran (Cringe all you want, the link is from WSWS).
