Steps for Setting Up Your Verizon Wireless Voicemail Greeting
Step 1
Set Your Password
If you're a first-time user of Verizon Wireless voicemail, simply dial *86 on your phone, and “Send” it to Verizon network. In about a minute, you will be asked to choose a four-digit password, confirm the password, and hang up. Those who have upgraded their Verizon Wireless cell phone from the previous one, you don't have to set up a new password for voicemail greeting, as it's already there in your new phone.
Step 2
Access “Main Menu” Options
To hear a voice mail message, you need to access the main menu option and enter the password you just created by dialling *86 on your phone. You'll hear the list of options to choose from. Press simply 4 to access the Personal Options that you can set up or change. There you can Press 3 to record your voicemail greeting message and name you want to save.
Step 3
Setting up “Voicemail Message”
In the main menu option, you also have several options to personalize your voicemail greeting. You need to Press 1 to record your personal message for all callers. If you rather don't want to leave a full message for callers, you can simply record your name by pressing 3 in the voicemail options. If you want a full message, you've to press 1 to start the recording process.
Step 4
Recording and Re-recording Your Greeting
You have to press 1 to implement a pre-recorded greeting message on your Verizon phone. Similarly, press 2 for implementing a greeting message with your personalized recorded name. For a full personalized voicemail message, you have to simply press 3. After this, you will be asked to record your message.
After recording your greeting, press the (#) key in order to replay the message. For any changes, press the key and you'll be again prompted to start recording. You can keep continuing pressing the key for re-recording the greeting message until you get a perfect recording. In the end, press the # key to save your message settings for final use.
