The people in the future will be no humans any more. And no, they won´t be animals, they will be pets!
The real life is like that, so the internet will be too. It´s no question of the technology, it´s a question of ethics. Less and less people care about the second one, so they will become slaves.
The only thing you can do is, safe what you can and who you can!
