GREEN BEETLE
Today I went for a walk and I found this specimen at the foot of a tree, to my surprise since I had never seen anything so beautiful and strange, so I investigated about it and this I found.
IT IS MORE COMMON TO FIND IT IN SOUTH AMERICA AS IT CAN BE OBSERVED IT IS OF METAL GREEN COLOR, IN GENERAL THEY ARE IN THE SHADOW OF TREES.IMG_20180124_154640.jpg

"Adults emerge from the earth to mate. The females fly over the surface of the lawn early in the morning, while the males fly from mid to late in the morning. The females produce a substance that attracts the males before mating. After the females mate, they dig into the lawn to place a group of 10 to 30 eggs in a ball of compressed earth about the size of a walnut. The females prefer moist organic soil. The eggs are almost round, about 1/16 of an inch in diameter, absorb moisture from the earth and cover for 10 to 15 days. The larvae feed during the night and consume organic matter in decomposition. The larvae shed skin three times until they reach the third stage. As cool autumn temperatures arrive, the almost mature larvae of the third stage (instar), 1½ inches, dig deeper into the ground to winter. The development of the adult usually requires 16 to 18 days repeating the cycle ". They are also known as June green beetles.
Well, it's great for me since I never saw one before.
