Hola comunidad de HIVE, hoy quiero hacer un post más dinámico, y hablar de algo más personal, resulta que la cultura en todos los países es muy distinta, incluso dentro de los países varia por regiones, me encanta pensar que todos tenemos cosas fantásticas que aportar a la sociedad, pero a veces el nivel de cultura, costumbres y tradiciones así no aporten digamos algo "importante" en ámbitos más serios creo que son esenciales en todos lados, para mi eso le da la chispa y la sazón a las culturas, y como latina que soy se los puedo asegurar. Somos muy distintos incluso nuestra personalidad es muy distante de culturas como las europeas que tienen también sus cosas geniales, pero en general creo que los que somos de la zona caribeña de este hermoso planeta tenemos algo que es muy distintivo, un no se que.
Hello HIVE community, today I want to make a more dynamic post, and talk about something more personal, it turns out that the culture in all countries is very different, even within countries varies by region, I love to think that we all have fantastic things to contribute to society, but sometimes the level of culture, customs and traditions even if they do not contribute something "important" in more serious areas I think they are essential everywhere, for me that gives the spark and spice to cultures, and as a Latina I can assure you. We are very different, even our personality is very distant from cultures like the European ones that also have their great things, but in general I think that those of us from the Caribbean area of this beautiful planet have something that is very distinctive, something I don't know what.
Ahora, en este post me quiero salir un poco de lo común y es que yo se que es muy complicado dar a entender a todo el mundo muchas cosas que son propias de un sitio, pero siento que seria divertido irnos conociendo e intercambiar información, conocimiento e incluso palabras de cosas que son las mismas pero se llaman distinto. Yo soy venezolana, por lo que por supuesto hablare de las cosas que más me gustan de mi país y obviamente las que más me desagradan, comencemos:
Now, in this post I want to go a bit out of the ordinary and I know that it is very complicated to make everyone understand many things that are typical of a place, but I feel it would be fun to get to know each other and exchange information, knowledge and even words of things that are the same but are called differently. I am Venezuelan, so of course I will talk about the things I like most about my country and obviously the things I dislike the most, let's start:

1. Una Sonrisa Constante
- A Constant Smile
No se si esto sucede en toda latinoamerica, pero en general puedo decir que el venezolano siempre anda muerto de risa, siempre anda contando chistes, riendo, compartiendo sonrisas así sea un simple gesto ¿por que?, no lo se, pero creo que tiene algo que ver con la crianza, nuestros padres muy rara vez nos permitían hacer berrinches de pequeños, creo que la mano dura y el ¿saludaste a la señora? es algo que siempre ha forjado que seamos amables, es una conducta aprendida de pequeños, algo que nuestros padres inculcan y siempre va a estar con nosotros, saludar incluso gente desconocida en la calle, es muy extraño pero se hace, no con ¡Hola!¿Como estas?, pero si con un ¡Buenas! o ¡Buenos días! todo depende. Entonces puedo decir que una de las cosas que más me gustan de la Idiosincrasia del venezolano es lo cortés que es.
I don't know if this happens in all of Latin America, but in general I can say that Venezuelans are always laughing their heads off, always telling jokes, laughing, sharing smiles, even if it's just a simple gesture, why? I don't know, but I think it has something to do with our upbringing, our parents very rarely allowed us to throw tantrums when we were little, I think that the firm hand and the "did you greet the lady" is something that has always forged us to be friendly, it is a behaviour learned when we were little, something that our parents instilled in us and it will always be with us, greeting even strangers in the street, it is very strange but it is done, not with "Hello, how are you", but with a "Good morning" or "Good morning", it all depends. So I can say that one of the things I like most about Venezuelan Idiosyncrasy is how polite they are.
2. Somos "panas" (buenos amigos)

Los venezolanos somos muy amistosos, siempre intentamos ser muy amigos de las personas que a penas se conocen, esto también es extraño, pero un venezolano se reconoce porque le saca conversación a cualquiera hasta en las filas de los bancos, somos muy habladores y nos gusta que nos presten atención.
Venezuelans are very friendly, we always try to be very friendly with people we hardly know, this is also strange, but a Venezuelan is recognisable because he or she will make conversation with anyone, even in the queues at the banks, we are very talkative and we like to be paid attention to.
3. Sabemos armar una fiesta
- We know how to throw a party
Entiendo y se que en todos lados hay fiestas y todos saben como pasarla bien, pero los venezolanos no se que tenemos, un gen o algo pero en su mayoría sabemos bailar, yo creo que es porque las tías desde pequeños prácticamente nos obligan en fiestas y reuniones familiares, pero todos al menos unos pasos de merengue sabemos dar.
I understand and I know that everywhere there are parties and everyone knows how to have a good time, but I don't know what we Venezuelans have, a gene or something, but most of us know how to dance, I think it's because our aunts practically force us to dance at parties and family gatherings, but we all know how to do at least a few steps of merengue.
4. Tenemos un amor muy profundo por nuestra geografía
- We have a deep love for our geography
Ya se que a veces nos ponemos fastidiosos con el Salto Ángel y nuestras playas pero es que las amamos, desde pequeños visitamos toda nuestra extensión territorial, nuestros padres nos han enseñado a amar cada rincón de Venezuela como si fuera único y una cosa que no existe en otro lado (algo que no es así, pues en otros países también hay lugares bellos), pero tenemos ese amor tan arraigado que me hace sentir orgullosa y feliz de tener selva, nieve, desierto y playas.
I know that sometimes we get annoyed with the Angel Falls and our beaches, but we love them, since we were little we have visited our entire territory, our parents have taught us to love every corner of Venezuela as if it were unique and something that does not exist anywhere else (something that is not true, because in other countries there are also beautiful places), but we have this deep-rooted love that makes me feel proud and happy to have jungle, snow, desert and beaches.
5. La simpatía de nuestras madres
- The sympathy of our mothers
No se que tiene la madre venezolana que es un refugio infinito lleno de amor y de bondad, adopta tus amigos cuando están todos los días en tu casa, son amigables, divertidas, luchadoras y muy trabajadoras, creo que dentro de nuestra cultura las resalto porque cuando se trata de madres creo que las venezolanas y en general la madre latina es una madre preocupada, amorosa y considerada con sus hijos y todo lo que esta a su alrededor, al final creo que es la crianza de mujeres y hombres trabajadores lo que hace el final de esta mezcla extraordinaria.
I don't know what it is about the Venezuelan mother that is an infinite refuge full of love and kindness, they adopt your friends when they are in your house every day, they are friendly, fun, fighters and hard workers, I think that within our culture I highlight them because when it comes to mothers I believe that Venezuelan and in general the Latin mother is a concerned, loving and considerate mother with her children and all that is around her, in the end I think it is the upbringing of hard working women and men that makes the end of this extraordinary mix.
6. La comida
- The food
Algo que obviamente no podía dejar atrás, es que el venezolano tiene una sazón increíble, todo lo que hace lo hace con sabores y mezclas así como somos, una fusión, nuestra cocina varia mucho, pero en general de norte a sur y de este a oeste es una ricura, desde los postres hasta los platos más elaborados, pequeñas golosinas e incluso sabores de exportación. No es que haya probado mucha comida extranjera pero hasta las fusiones de platos de otros países en Venezuela son brutales.
Something I obviously couldn't leave behind, is that Venezuelans have an incredible seasoning, everything they do is made with flavours and mixtures, just as we are, a fusion, our cuisine varies a lot, but in general from north to south and from east to west it is delicious, from desserts to the most elaborate dishes, small treats and even export flavours. It's not that I've tried a lot of foreign food, but even the fusions of dishes from other countries in Venezuela are brutal.
Lo que no me gusta
What I don't like
A lo mejor muchas cosas han cambiado, pero voy a decir lo que actualmente no me esta gustando del venezolano y creo que es producto de la crisis que estamos viviendo.
Maybe many things have changed, but I am going to say what I don't like about Venezuelans at the moment and I think it is a product of the crisis we are living through.
1. La viveza criolla
- Creole liveliness
El querer jodernos entre nosotros mismos porque quedar como el mas vivo, el que se las sabe todas; es algo del nuevo hombre en Venezuela y lo detesto porque siempre nos han enseñado a ayudarnos los unos con los otros y no a obtener beneficios de las necesidades de muchos, y siento que esto es producto única y exclusivamente de la crisis generada en nuestro país, pues de no ser así creo que el cuento seria otro.
Wanting to screw each other because we want to be the most alive, the one who knows it all; this is something of the new man in Venezuela and I hate it because we have always been taught to help each other and not to profit from the needs of many, and I feel that this is a product solely and exclusively of the crisis generated in our country, because if it were not so I think that the story would be different.
2. Somos muy escandalosos

Es la verdad, hay que admitirlo cuando hay muchos venezolanos reunidos somos unos escandalosos, hablamos gritando, no se si sera así en toda latinoamerica pero creo que deberíamos ser un poco recatados en algunas ocasiones y no querer llamar la atención tanto siempre.
I don't know if it's like that in all of Latin America but I think we should be a bit demure on some occasions and not always want to draw so much attention to ourselves.
3. Nos estamos volviendo flojos
- We are getting lazy
Esto bueno, una parte le pongo la culpa al gobierno que esta creando un sector de la sociedad totalmente dependiendo del estado, no hacen nada, les dan bonos de dinero, les regalan comida, a cambio de mantener posturas políticas pro-gobierno, otra parte es si es de los llanos en general siempre han tenido esta fama de ser algo dormilones, creo que los únicos que quito de esta lista es la región de los Andes, y aun así más que pereza estoy viendo que la gente esta trabajando de cosas que no deberían ser ahora, como revendiendo comida, medicinas, etc. Eso no es un trabajo pero, se obtienen más beneficios económicos ya que el gobierno no paga nada a los que trabajan, es decir el sueldo mínimo es una miseria, por lo que mucha gente prefiere vender cosas (aquí juega lo de las necesidades básicas y que no estamos matando entre nosotros), que trabajar en cualquier lado, lo entiendo; pero no comulgo con esto, solo que de alguna u otra forma debe existir cierto flujo económico que permita a la gente sobrevivir.
This well, one part I blame the government that is creating a sector of society totally dependent on the state, they do nothing, they give them money bonuses, they give them food, in exchange for maintaining pro-government political positions, another part is if it is the plains in general have always had this reputation of being somewhat sleepy, I think the only ones I remove from this list is the Andes region, and yet more than laziness I am seeing that people are working on things that should not be now, such as reselling food, medicines, etc.. That is not a job but, you get more economic benefits as the government does not pay anything to those who work, ie the minimum wage is a pittance, so many people prefer to sell things (here plays the basic needs and that we are not killing each other), than working anywhere, I understand it; but I do not agree with this, just that somehow or another there must be some economic flow that allows people to survive.
Creo que por ahora no existen más cosas que me molesten de nuestra cultura, y al final todo es generado por el desgobierno de nuestro país, ojala y todo cambie y mejore, porque la verdad si la estamos pasando muy mal, es triste quiero volver a salir a la calle y ver a la gente feliz de verdad, más que un gesto de buenas costumbres sea porque estamos felices, porque somos prósperos, podemos vivir en libertad y en nuestro país. ¿Tienen amigos Venezolanos?, cuenten como son y como es más o menos su cultura; seria lindo leerlos y compartir ideas; por supuesto que en todo país hay gente buena y mala; pero esto es una generalización además que yo se que los buenos somos más. I think that for now there are no more things that bother me about our culture, and in the end everything is generated by the misgovernment of our country, hopefully everything will change and improve, because the truth is that we are having a very bad time, it is sad, I want to go back to the streets and see the people really happy, more than a gesture of good manners because we are happy, because we are prosperous, we can live in freedom and in our country. Do you have Venezuelan friends, tell us how they are and how is more or less their culture?
