I recently learned about Steemit through a friend. I don't fully understand it yet but what I do understand I am excited about! I am a YouTuber who has consistently been getting monetization cut off because of the nature of my content. My content however is very family friendly for the most part. I am a 2nd Amendment activist and I have been documenting my training in firearms starting from scratch. I started 2 years ago and have come a long way. I am hoping to inspire more girls to take an active role in their own self defense. This is a video of the first time I ever took professional training.
I hope to see you guys in future posts and I'm glad to be a part of this new community! I plan on bringing everyone I can to this platform so that we can all grow together and express ourselves freely the way a free society is intended.

Welcome to steemit Brickell.
While it is a little daunting at first figuring out all the different in's & out's of steemit....it can be done. Fortunately there are ammo cans full of tutorials and people explaining things here. I'm still relatively new, just a few months, but I'll share a few things that might help.
Right off the bat, a lot of things are probably similar in fashion to youtube, without the judgement I hope. Read as much as you can initially to help figure out the different processes to get out your posts, messages, monetize, etc.
Understand that it probably isn't going to monetize the way youtube does, although I'm not that familiar with that process. Most articles you'll find will mention interacting with people and having good. original content. That should be no problem for you. But understand it's a much smaller community here, and I'm not sure how large the "slug thrower" crowd is here.
So perhaps you can jump start it. ;-) Consider yourself "followed" now and good luck here on steemit.
