Goodbye Youtube | DTube Vlog

in #video7 years ago (edited)

Just another example of YouTube drama that I just don't want to be a part of anymore. They have zero interest in supporting small time creators. I appreciate the support that you all show here. Click to above pic to watch the VLog. Hope you enjoy.

With Gratitude,
Captain Bob

jeah suck it youtube :D

Haha. What a load of crap huh?

Unfortunately, this is what happens when an arena that was once populated by small, independent operators gets taken over by large organized businesses. They take what was once a fair and equitable system and turn it into a pay-to-play enterprise where those that lack the deep pockets and resources are crowded out and replaced with dumbed down BS. YouTube's loss is Steemit's gain @captainbob.

Just letting you know, I accessed dTube and dSounds yesterday and think these will be perfect for showcasing my music. Thanks for the heads up on them.

Absolutely true. Also glad you are finding dTube and dSounds as good outlets for your music. Look forward to more from you!

Hey there, I actually got the news yesterday that you need 1k followers within a year or no more monetization...like wow! it's like they want us to go to dtube haha. I'm so glad that I joined this platform in time :)

Winny out...for now ;)

PS: btw, we have a group called dtubedaily on discord who are willing to make videos every single day. Would you like to join? If yes, then tell me and i'll send you the link :)

Heck yeah man, send me the link!

What's your name on discord?

Winny out...for now ;)

Winny out...for now ;)

I'm absolutely disgusted with the choices youtube have made of late. They have turned their back on the grassroots community which have made it the superpower that it is today. Now that I have discovered steemit and the amazing way wealth can be distributed to even the most simple posts and creators why would I EVER go back to youtube!?

wow looks like DTube is where it's at

I certainly think DTube has a great future. I'd like to see better resolution come along. We need a bit more than 480p. I certainly can't send a client to watch a 480p example of work. For that, unfortunately its probably Youtube or Vimeo, but I think DTube will get there. I mean, heck, it's very young, so I'm willing to invest in it a bit to see some progress.

I have multiple channels on YouTube. All but one of them have falling to the monetisation hatchet. Only one channel left that has 9k subs and a lot of views. Having said that, every video I put on that channel gets demonetised anyway, for no apparent reason.

Agreed. True for me as well. I still post a few things every now and then just to not abandon my followers there and to try to get them moved over to DTube. But all my regular content will be going on DTube with just a every now and then post over on Youtube and the other socials.
