Today in Music (September 20th)

in #music7 years ago

What interesting new songs or albums were released or were topping the charts on September the 20th in the history of music? What has happened on this day in the music universe? I apologize in advance that my view is quite narrow since I only know and follow western music.

In 1976 The Captain & Tennille’s primetime music variety show premiered on ABC-TV.

My favorite song of Captain & Tennille is “Do That To Me One More Time”.

In 1969 an album of a British supergroup Blind Faith was at the top of both British and US charts.

The group members were Eric Clapton, Steve Winwood, and Ginger Baker. Here they are live in London with “Can't Find My Way Home”.

For a change we are showing you a withdrawal. In 1963 The Rolling Stones withdrew their second single “Poison Ivy”.

Does anybody know why they withdrew it?

Please remember that these artists and songs are my personal choices and are not always what you would consider a great hit. OK, most of the time they are.

Poison Ivy for sure :)

What's wrong with Tennille? She is lovely and a great singer.

Nothing wrong, but like Rolling Stones more :)
