We kited the night before. Nobody brought their motors due to the forecast. It turned out the be what would've been a butter sunset. The forecast was projected to be the same tonight, so we rolled the dice and brought them just in case. It was not a mirror image of the night before. A stunning sky regardless.
Thanks for coming along!
You know, this is something I've been thinking of doing after I finish my training in sailplanes.
The beauty of being able to take off from anywhere, freedom to fly whenever, etc. It's like having your personal helicopter without having to spend a fortune on one. Only thing that concerns me (from an ignorant point of view of course) is stalling the wing - they look flimsy because I'm comparing it to my aluminum wings lol.
But man, I could go to work, then head out back home while admiring the view. You just can't do that with a fixed wing.

Thanks for coming along and yes indeed, the privilege of being able to leave the planet is nothing short of awesome & life changing. I'm also a fixed wing pilot and I had the same feelings regarding flying under fabric. However, as we know, looks can be deceiving and they are quite stable. A PPG or PG pilot just needs to be WX savvy to ensure that it stays that way. Glad to have ya!
Thank you!
The most dangerous part of this flight was the intro standing in the middle of the road. LOL
Indeedy. I actually stopped in the turn lane. Now why there's a 1/2 mile long turn lane with nowhere to turn is beyond me. ~8^)
