The A-Team is Hannibal Smith, played by Liam Neeson, Face, played by Bradley Cooper, B.A. Baracus (Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson), and Howling Mad Murdoch (Sharlto Copley). I remember watching the television show in the 1980s and liking it. I don’t know if it stands up today. This is the 2010 movie adaptation.
The story is kind of an origin story where the team are Airborne Rangers sent on a mission to recover stolen money plates. They are framed for a crime, jailed. They escape to clear their names, recover the plates and get the bad guys. Hijinks ensue, Jessica Biel is also around.
The Good...
The performances are great! The actors are having a lot of fun.
The action is silly and a lot of fun.
The Not So Good...
The story really doesn’t hold together very well. It is just a bunch of action set pieces held together by a flimsy plot.
Some of the silly action is just too silly, I’m looking at you tank in the sky.
The B.A. Baracus as pacifist storyline was pointless.
A lot of misogyny in this flick.
I enjoyed it for what it was. It was clunky because they had to introduce all the characters and the main heist plot was weak, but I would like to see a sequel or two.
Yeah, I’d check out a sequel too.
