I feel like I'm relatively new to Steemit still and I'm not sure what I'm doing here exactly. My blog feed looks like a mish-mash of gaming blog posts, webcomics, videos, superheroine wrestling fiction and success articles. If you look at my bio it says cartoonist, game designer, author, actor, and artist. I think there just wasn't room for amateur stuntman, out-of-shape martial artist, and virgin standup comedian. Oh, and I have a full time job as an admin guy for a medical billing company. Whenever I meet someone and they ask what I do, I take a deep breath.
I think I've posted samples of all sorts of creative work that I've done, except for acting... So in the interest of completeness, here's a YouTube webseries that I've been acting in for the last couple years called Morgan's Corner.
For those that don't know (which I'm assuming is every single person reading this), Morgan's Corner is the name of an infamous, haunted location in Hawaii on the island of Oahu. The series is a horror, supernatural, X-filesish thriller set in Hawaii. It doesn't actually have anything to do with the Morgan's Corner estate in Hawaii, but instead focuses on the producer's own created mythology combined with local mythology and folklore (of which we have a LOT with the combination of so many Asian and Polynesian cultures here). By the way, Philippines wins for scariest vampire. Hands down.
Our crew has a zero budget. And we've been plagued with losing actors/volunteers since we began filming. Half of what we've filmed will never be seen because of actors leaving. We've had to rewrite entire episodes to compensate for missing persons. We've scrapped entire plots and sub-plots.
I'm always hesitant to post any film acting that I've done because I don't think I'm any kind of great actor. Just committed and good at pretending. But I would really like to see this series gain some momentum just for the sake of the producer/director Brett Botbyl who has been pouring his heart into this project.
So if anyone feels so inclined to check out an indie YouTube series, please go, view, subscribe, leave a comment there. No one is making a profit on the series, so a few compliments would go a long way towards feeding the director's heart and soul. Thanks, Steemians!
Nice
Thanks. We definitely need some love.
I’ll support that! Needed some x-fileish short videos! Subscribed
Thank you. I hope we can entertain or creepily gross you out.
I think that as you think, we think many, and I include myself in that way of thinking.
When I begin to doubt the potential of some of my work I remember that there are people who like the singular and that they may like my work so I end up publishing it.
