Why I Needed THIS!!!

in #video7 years ago (edited)

Hey Steemians! Happy Monday from the East Coast!

If you’re a vlogger, you’re familiar with one of the hundreds of problems that we can face that can taint our video and turn it useless…

Audio… Is a big one. Having great audio is important in any video, and unfortunately my Sony a5100 just doesn’t give me great options. So I put together a nice little system that will make life a lot easier when it comes to getting high quality audio.

Make sure you check it out, and let me know what you think in the comments below! You can also find the links to everything I mention below:

The Camera I Use To Vlog

The Portable Recorder I’m Using

The Fur Windscreen for The Recorder I’m Using

The Bracket I Use To Sidemount My Recorder

The Uni-Directional Microphone I Use with My Recorder

I believe that everything I desire to accomplish, will in fact be accomplished.

Zoom buddies ;)

You are definitely right about having quality audio ma man! Great that you picked zoom h1. I can tell you that it's awesome! Been using it for a while now!

Winny out...for now ;)

20180205_104100.jpg Not as nice to carry around, but... Zoom buddies!

I have both and always choose to carry H4n. Quality is so much better.
Also, I like the fact that it is heavier. It requires commitment and feels like '60s - when journalists would carry tape recorders. (I should make it clear that I use it for podcasting)

That thing looks niiiceeeeee

It works great, but you defiantly picked the right one for your setup. The smaller, lighter, and more convenient things are, the easier it is to stay motivated and keep going. I bought a whole second set of equipment just to keep things easy. I've found that the more equipment I had the less I used it all. And these days its so easy to get amazing quality with really cheap stuff. Keep it up man, you're doing great!

Hey that's awesome man! Looks like you got the matte one :( I didn't even realize it existed until it was too late!

Yes at some point gear does matter. At some level audio is more important then the footage.

I could not agree more. In early 2000's when DSLRs started to be a thing, everyone was making movies. But nobody cared for audio. I was the only guy in town who would do field recording. It was awesome. Creators were overwhelemed with the idea of recording just audio

Yeah audio is very important. Glad to see you caught on that early!

THE BEST RECORDER EVER :D I have one !

I really like the previous model Zoom H2 I believe. Much better sound and build. Looked very retro :-)H2.jpeg

Dude...that cup is as big as your head, lol. Great addition to your arsenal of tools :)

I eat soup out of that mug LOL

That thing is HUGE!

Haha I love that cup! Big cups = cozier times

As I was reading that intro about sound my first thought was Zoom 360...and then I looked at the pic and read further, hehe. Curious, how did you make that intro? Thinking of getting in vlogging :)

I actually bought the intro as an after effects template from envato market!

Thanks! Will have to check that out. Starting from scratch is probably not the best idea when there's a template out there, hehe.

I have that exact same microphone myself. That thing is WONDERFUL!!

Ayeeee another member of the Zoom club!

nice one, spence! Keep upping that quality

Oh you know I will brother!

That is some next level shit in here. But I love to learn always more :D Thanks You for all the tips :D

No problem man! Thanks for watching!

CHEA, GIT IT!!!

CHU ALREADY KNOW!!

Well done for investing into great equipment again! It didn't make a huge difference since it was inside (like you said) but I'm sure it will be very useful when you're shooting outside. I also think it's awesome that you used SBD to buy it :)

Yeah I'm excited to test it outside!!! I agree man, using SBD to reinvest is an awesome feeling!

The audio is of paramount importance....Hands down
