In the last video, I had left off when the Sequoia had started up but couldn't take off because they were wetting down the runway to keep down dust that's kicked up when aircraft take off. Today, I'm able to give post the routine that Leopardo performed in the early afternoon.
After that, everything shut down and no aircraft were flying because it was 95° out, even though Oshkosh is able to fly planes all day long in 100° weather. I used to go to Oshkosh every year when I lived up north. For that reason I am glad to be witnessing any kind of airshow that I can get to. If they do not want to fly, that is their opinion and they are welcome to it. Below you have a picture of the control tower, the thing right next to the RV - with the umbrella on it. This is GEZ (General Rodriguez Airport) and it is usually uncontrolled as are most small strips. When you fly close to it, you just tune to the channel that all aircraft monitor and announce that you are overflying, landing, or whatever you are doing. If anyone is taking off, they will look out for you to avoid accidents.
Later on they started to fly, around 4:00 in the afternoon, and I captured most of the routine done by an RV4. I keep the videos between 15 and 20 minutes.
I shot most of the air show in 4k so that I am able to zoom in on the aircraft while editing and, for the most part, keep them centered in the screen.
I am still putting together the footage from March 12, 2023 - This video covers the arrival at Leopoldo Camilo di Rosso in his Sequoia and the full routine of an RV4. I am trying to keep these in small bite-size pieces so that I do not have to downsize the videos for the platforms that have very small maximum file sizes.
