Up to this point in our travels, we have been fortunate enough to do laundry at all our Airbnb rentals. That was no longer the case when we arrived in Puerto Vallarta. We finally had to figure out how to navigate a "lavandería." It was a pretty new experience for both of us after always doing our own laundry in the United States.
Before leaving Puerto Vallarta and heading to San Blas, we had a week's worth of laundry to do. If we didn't do it there, we'd need to figure it out in our next destination (one we were even less familiar with).
If you're wondering how people go about doing laundry in Mexico...
It's not at all like what we were expecting. We thought it'd be like going to a laundromat in the US with multiple pay-per-use machines. We'd pay a nominal fee to use the machines, have to wait around for them to finish, then spend time folding all of our own clothes before carrying them home.
It's not like that at all. It's so much better!
In this video we take our clothes to a lavandería, Jordan realizes he can't spell, and Maddie attempts a technique from Mexican vendors.

Hey Maddie, your Spanish sounds great. Your travels remind me so much of my time in Indonesia (from the streets to laundering clothes). In Bali, Indonesia, you can pay someone per kilo clean and fold your clothes. So nice when you are traveling!
Thanks so much @sumantranate! Just need to get more verbs and vocab words down and I'll be set! ;)
Do you remember what the price was like in Indonesia? I wonder if it's comparable to Mexican prices. Either way, it's a delightful treat after a long day of exploring not to deal with dirty laundry.

It was about $1.50 to $2.00 per kilo if I am not mistaken.
Really sorry you haven't found the tortilla man yet. Wow! Your Spanish is way better. Wow. Maddie even pronounce the name of the place so well, without stammers. Impressive. There is no limit for a determined mind indeed. Bravo! Really love Jordan's Steemit top.
What an impressive job at the laundry. You went with a massive bag and see how amazing a job they did with the portable one.
One day...one day we'll find a Tortilla Man! ;) Thanks for the compliments on our Spanish. We're trying to learn more and more every day.
They did such a stellar job with our clothes! That was some talented folding to get it condensed into a bundle like they did.
That was amazing, really, and impressive. I am really excited following your journey.
Wow,all this for laundry,no b Small thing.
We wanted to do a video featuring laundry in Mexico since there will probably be others like us who also had no idea what it's like to visit a lavandería in Mexico. Thanks for watching :)
