At their whim you are allowed to use them, but you can be certain nothing you do on them is covert, and when they decide your use of your crypto will be prevented and your assets seized. Crypto is just data, and censorship is the sole option of the providers of your means of use of that data. Further, you should consider that the Total Information Awareness operation began long before the advent of cryptocurrency, and all data regarding cryptocurrency transactions has been saved by the NSA and cracked at leisure since, or will be.
