RE: sandtheft- a weird but important problem

GREAT Video! I learned about the problem while traveling the coast of Ecuador! A lot of builders take huge truck-fulls at a time for the cement-constructed building style. Not only is the theft of beach sand a problem, but they don't WASH the sand before mixing concrete with it, so all of the rebar they use rots faster than it needs to and buildings literally start dissolving away very quickly.

Because I was aware of how valuable sand is, I was very attracted to a project in Russia called SandCoin (SND). Each token will be redeemable for the value of a cubic meter of sand quarried from land in Russia. Check it out sometime.

Thank you for commenting,
the SandCoin project seems to be a very interesting and unique business model, but I sadly couldn't find anything about, if it actually works. During my research also found out that they use sand which is not washed, but I didn't knew that it is a potential problem. Otherwise I would have included it in my video ;).
