- I am on some kind of spacecraft
- Nothing on it works, except sporadically placed monitors which replay videos of people talking about things that I might understand if I stuck around long enough to listen to them
- Most people here want to kill me
- They also want to kill all the other people who don’t want to kill me
- The one person who does not want to kill me communicates with me with some kind of digital telepathy and I don’t trust her at first
- Everyone (both those who want to kill me and those who don’t) is eventually devoured by a monster (see section 2)
- It is surprisingly dark and dungeon-like for a space station. It reminds me of “The House on Haunted Hill” (1999 version). Actually a good way to summarize my experience is: “The House on Haunted Hill” (1999)… in SPACE. Or maybe the movie “Pandorum.”
- There are monsters
- They are zombie space insects
- They want to kill me
- They don’t want to kill me that bad, though, because they only seem to appear at plot-significant moments
- One kind of monster, in addition to stabbing me with its claws, is capable of vomiting poison on to me.
- I am some kind of skilled technician
- I know how to use lots of different tools, which are conveniently located in rooms that require me to use them in order to get out of
- I can “Hack” computers by reaching my hands inside them (!) and manipulating their insides
- I have space dementia
- I don’t know what this means, but the one person who does not want to kill me assures me that my dementia someday will.
- It seems to be caused by some kind of sinister version of the 2001 monolith. It’s like, the monolith from “2001: A Space Odyssey,” if “2001” was “Event Horizon” instead of a masterpiece.
- The evil monolith may also be the source of the zombie space monsters.
I have only played this game for about half an hour so far, but to be honest it is not very fun and kind of depressing. Maybe that is the point?
