Thousands of friends online.
But alone in my room.
Much has been said about videogames and social factors, such as violence, isolation, not having the skills to socialize or simply the high irritability of the toughest players.
But leaving aside the analyzes that arise each year it is very difficult to know if these factors arise from video games, which could be due to the sexualization of music, violence in the media or hatred in social networks, this gives us a society of extremes.
The player of the decade of the 80s will remember how the "arcades" became a third space of coexistence, since they were a middle point between the house and the school where more than playing was competing for the honor, where to beat one of the greats gave you unlocked achievements to your friends.
Everything was based on stepping on the streets with friends, a few bills and test against more experienced players, or just comment on the anecdotes coming home.
If we could summarize it in one word, that was "coexistence". With the arrival of the consoles, the game spaces were the homes where there was not so much freedom to speak with rudeness, smoke in secret or simply face new players defending the value of your turn.
When increasing the quality of the graphics and the cost of the consoles they stopped being common spaces, they were not for all and equality did not exist that in the "ardcades" where your coin is worth the same as mine.
And finally came ... A console with a single lever, a gift where only one has fun and another looks impatiently waiting his turn. The simple act of buying the game was reduced to a download and the coin was forgotten, the player forgot his friends, sitting down, he put on some headphones and he is afraid that others will hear his voice.
There is no more jubilation of friendship or happiness, only the hatred that comes out when the difficulty and frustration reach high levels.
They isolated us and distanced us because it is better to sell us separately.
