Silver Afghan Amulet necklace- Old Vintage pure silver statement necklace- Taweez Necklace
Alive with color and motion ,This extraordinary old tribal jewelry necklace was handcrafted during the mid to early 1900's in Afghanistan.This is probably the oldest pure silver jewelry piece we have in our collection. It is a traditional Afghan ceremonial style necklace with Taweez Amulet and lots of vibrant glass stones.
A large Amulet pendant in the center is incised with floral patterns, and bright red and green beads have been added to the center, almost as an afterthought. The chains along the sides are generously laden with bell-fringed bell caps, which clatter together for a wonderful sound with movement.
A warm age patina remains, giving this necklace a glow that only the passage of time can create. Recently added ties allow for adjusting the length as desired.
