The Lagos Blockchain Meetup held on the 28th April 2018 and I was there.
The Blockchain frenzy is taking over and with the rate of adoption, stakeholders are now pushing the envelope to make sure that the banked and unbanked are well informed of the new reality.
I was part of the panel that talked about Bolckchain adoption in Africa and with me on the panel were reps from Uport, Crypstone and Bitmama.
I talked about how I am using the Blockchain and its various tools to create a real offline economy where adoption is embraced and used to bring about innovative growth.
This is looking to be a great year and I am so very positive I will be doing many more of these meetups and using same to bring change to our world.
This is a part of an hour video live from the event which was organized by Munachi Ogueke of Intrupay.
Amongst the Startups represented are Digital Abundance, Venhub, Agroplexi, Cosmestibles etc. The event was covered by Cryptotvplus
Nice one @ejemai. More of these sort of exposure should be made possible.
I wrote a post recently on how to encourage and accelerate the adoption of the blockchain technology in Nigeria.
Too many people are not aware of the technology and most of those who are aware, to certain degree, focus on bitcoin and etherum. They focus on the money and very few, if any at all, has paid any attention to the possibilities enshrined in the blockchain make up.
Airdrop, altcoins, blockchain powered start-ups, icos, etc are little known in our country. As a result, the introduction to blockchain tech among Nigerians is not getting the uptake it needs.
In that post, a rambling discourse that I could have written better, I think, I suggested the introduction of a news media outfit, either print, visual or audio that would be totally devoted to the dissemination of every blockchain related information available. This will enable those who have the money to invest as well as the skill to create, an opportunity to follow the trend and find their place within it.
Nigeria has to be a part of the revolution in a grand way. We need to show the world and our own government that there's more to us than meets the eyes.
We have the human resources to create blockchain powered start-ups. We have the financial powerhouses who just need sufficient, information and conviction for them to involve themselves in it. We have the masses of unemployed, skilled hands, waiting in line for the job opportunities it will bring.
I do not know how this can be achieved, I do not have the wherewithal to make it happen but I believe that information is power and we have barely scratched the surface of all the information available to make our country great.
Great work once again. We met at Abuja meet up and yours and the words of the other speakers have put a fire inside me. I would love that fire to spread across nigeria, and burn away the shackles of the illusory freedom, government jobs offer. Stay safe boss.
Hi @warpedpoetic, this here is another post. Your discuss is more of a lesson than just a comment and I think we all should start thinking of the blockchain as whole new ecosystem and not just a Bitcoin or Ethereum propeller.
Stay awesome!
Yes we need to start thinking in that direction boss. This goes beyond bitcoin and etherum and many do not know this. This is why there are still people paying people to help them trade bitcoin. They still think it's like forex and as a result opportunities are being missed and opportunists are making money out of the people's ignorance.
Blockchain is the future ,creating awareness with trainings in our environment is very vital
Very impressive incentive keep up the good work
legendary meetup
You are really making the world a better place through these blockchain meetups. Keep steeming @ejemai. You are blesses.
It's a great thing you go to spread this goodnews of the blockchain. Many need to hear of the blockchain cause it can change lives; it changed mine.
On the other hand, I believe it will be a great plus to the Africa economy if the blockchain is being adopted.
I Feel Blessed Too
The impact of blockchain technology in Africa is innumerable. The possible future impact of it is quite unpredictable, we just begun.
Well done @ejemai for being a worthy ambassador.
Kudos @ejemai. You are a worthy ambassador.
You're doing great sir, and you love meetups, lol.
Happy Sunday
Keep doing good works sir. God bless you and happy sunday.
@ejemai this is great.
nice one...and good idea too
This is amazing @ejemai. Truly the world is becoming a better place. We have to be fully part of the revolution. Bill Gates said we have sufficient human resources. I don't want to be left out. Thank you. I'm still new into this blockchain and hope to acquire much information and engage in it.
