A good example of how the "alt stream" changed the "mainstream" is the whole lead poisoning debacle. Scientists around the word defended lead as a harmless material. Well enough testing, evidence, and cases of people jumping out of windows from lead poisoning the consensus shifted. And today we all know the dangers of lead. Personally the evidence for the round earth, is too great. You can see other planets like Mercury and Mars with a telescope and they are obviously round. Why would Earth be different?
