RE: Vocab-ability–173 (ped, pod = foot) – A More Powerful Vocabulary (earn UpVotes with “Vocab Practice” exercise)

MY VOCAB PRACTICE

  1. Pedal: Pedaling down the street with streamers flitting and fluttering behind her in her new tricycle, the girl beamed with joy.

  2. Pedestrian: 'Watch for pedestrians,' her mother called after her.

  3. Podiatrist: She couldn't walk outside without help so she watched from the kitchen window while she gossiped on the phone about the handsome podiatrist she saw the other day.

  4. Expedition: It was quite the expedition for her -- getting around in the home with a cast on her ankle: she didn't like it; plus she hadn't worn heels in three weeks.

  5. Centipede: She looked over at the creepy crawlers in her son's vivarium: 'With all those feet a centipede is just fine missing a few, but it's not itself any more, is it? -- not a centipede.'
