Good work!

Fantastic post and a great initiative my friend. Will give it a resteem in the hope you get a bigger uptake. It's lovely to see practical educational posts like this on Steemit that can benefit so many people. I wish people whose native language isn't English could start similar programs so people like me could try and a learn a different language!

I see you're in Thailand.

Last January, I enrolled in a Thai language course .. just for the visa. DIdn't bother studying much, but after a few months, I cracked the books open every few days and have found that it's a relatively easy language to learn. Apart from the tones and the writing.

But you have a point re "practical educational posts." Often, I search the net for something re Thai vocab or Thai grammar, and most of the time, I cannot find anything helpful.

Maybe if I stay here a few decades and happen to become fluent in Thai, I can make a Thai language course for Steemit. Don't hold your breath.

LOL...relatively easy...relative to learning Martian you mean ? ;-)
I've been here 7 years and although I can get around, buy stuff and generally make myself understood I find it horrendously difficult. I can't even hear the difference in the tones when I listen to a Thai speaker! It doesn't help that my wife speaks almost perfect English and is impatient so I haven't needed to learn much but I would love to read. However, I see their spaceless, punctuationless lines of text and a mist of hopelessness descends upon me!
I do speak French, and a little Spanish, Tagalog and Bahasa and I can at least be polite in a number of other languages but if I'm honest, I quite like not understanding Thai. As a pretty anti-social, miserable loner, it means I don't have to talk to anyone. Especially the in-laws 555 ;-)
Check out 'Learn Thai with Mod' on YT, I love her style and learn a lot from videos like this. Again, it would be great having that sort of language instruction on dtube.

I see your point. Even in class, we avoid the tones, as it seems impossible to learn about them without going into advanced studies.

And since you can are at least bilingual, with knowledge of various other languages, I'll accept the fact that you do indeed know what you are talking about.

Anyway, I'm just glad to learn a bit of Thai, and hopefully be able to understand / speak with Thais when necessary. But I to am rather anti-social and definitely a loner, so when I don't wanna speak with anyone, I just retreat to my home, or go to a bar where I'm anonymous.

I'd seen "Learn Thai with Mod" when I was starting to learn. Maybe I'll check her out again, and see if she can help me a bit.

Well said

Totally agree. Been wanting to learn another language. Hopefully our fellow steemian would hear you out. :)

Thanks for your input.

upvote ? ohhh sorry, I thought you said flag!

Ya, me too. I distinctly read "FLAG ME." Dunno if I'll bother this time, but will gladly do so next time.

I dropped him to the bottom of the comments so it doesn't spoil the comments for the rest of the people taking part. That's all it needs :-)

Instead of begging for upvote why don't you partake in the contest
