RE: Vocab-ability–201 (sacr = holy) – A More Powerful Vocabulary (earn UpVotes with “Vocab Practice” exercise)

in #vocab-ability6 years ago (edited)

MY VOCAB PRACTICE:

  1. Sacred:
Jerimiah stepped on his father's sacred shoes.

  2. Sacrifice:
Because of the offense, he had to sacrifice one of his prized toys, a teenage mutant ninja turtle action figurine.

  3. Sacrilege:
It became sacrilege to speak of the mutilated toy.

  4. Consecrate:
Jerimiah went to the holy father's chamber and asked him to consecrate his father from the demons that possessed him to act in an ungodly manner.

  5. Desecrate:
The holy father gave the boy a vial containing holy water, and said, "When you throw this on your father, it should desecrate the demons he harbors within.

Sort:

Good work!

But, one note ... In #5, you should have spelled the word "VIAL," not "vile." The former means "small glass container," while the latter means "disgusting."
