Mental health is also one issue in my country. Stigma on mental illness ruins lives, families, communities - notwithstanding the corruption of some of the government officials in health care funds.
Insight is key in handling these conditions, both on the physician's and the patient's perspective. I was disappointed of how the "physician" acted on the story for he failed to delivered care and understanding to the author.
Pharmacotherapy alone cannot manage this condition. It should be augmented with supportive psychotherapy and health education given by a physician with a HEART. And it should be highlighted that the willingness of the patient to take medications should be fueled by motivation and hope not by fear and neglect. - I say this as a Mage of Thoughts.
