Pulled the trigger!!!

I wanted to get a commuter car for work. I put a non-refundable deposit down for the Elio a couple of years back. As you all may know, the production date has been pushed back every year for several years now. Frustrated, I started looking at other options. There were only two I was thinking about: the Sondors and a used Chevy Volt.

The Sondors was a three-wheel all electric car, looked awesome and the price point of $10k was also great. However, it had the same issue as the Elio, it wasn’t in production yet.

I loved the extended range technology of the Volt. I would have no “range anxiety” driving it. The first gen Volt has seating for only 4 passengers and I really “needed” 5. So, that brought me to looking at the 2nd gen model.

It’s been great! I’ve been getting more than 60 miles fully charged . I can commute to work and back home with about 25 miles left to run errands if need be.

My daughter drives it when she’s home from college. Wife and I discussed letting her take it with her next year. Yes, I’m a little sad about it. But, hopefully either the Elio or Sondors will actually be being built by then. :/
