Hello!
It's Friday the 4th of April 2025 and today marks my first month without employment, which has mostly been spent feeding the seagulls and messing around on the Internet. Some may wonder if this was not too dissimilar to a normal working day when I was employed... I can confirm that I saved the internet messing for later in the day 😁
With this view though I did find it hard to concentrate at times, and actually moved my office desk to the back room last year where it remains still, and where I am currently seated. There is a spare laptop knocking around though now, thanks to an old workmate who has just told me what the BIOS password is for the nice Dell machine my ex employer left with me. This is a small consolation for being made redundant, but if I can use the laptop to earn a few pennies whilst out and about, that will make me feel like I got a little more from the (or)deal.

To the right of my Balcony as I look out to the water is a white apartment block in prime position on the beach. There are seldom human visitors to the small rooftop terrace and so Seagulls and the odd pigeon are often seen perched on the highest point and admiring the view. And this view, to a few Seagulls in the know, is not just one of the Mediterranean but also provides an excellent vantage point to look onto my breakfast table.
The images are stills taken from a video shot through the balcony window which is next to the table we eat at. I'm pretty confident we are being watched eating each day as this is what happens when I stand after breakfast and open the back door.

Over the past couple of years living in this apartment it has been impossible to ignore these seabirds. As you can see they are not shy when food is involved, and If I had more bread there would quickly be a few dozen Seagulls circling in anticipation. Luckily, the noise is never too much and I've not had a single Seagull shit land on the balcony as yet, so thus far it's mostly been enjoying watching these birds chase each other and fight over bread with insane agility and catching skills.
I am entertained that is for sure!

Vortexbot has been doing well yeah. The guy who has built it wrote the Xbot for SL - this is why I thought I'd have a look as I reckon he's a smart dude!

I am unsure whether to offer my condolences or congratulations on your unemployment. It is certainly not the easiest or best time to not have a stable income. With groceries going up everywhere, inflation remaining persistent, and life generally becoming much more expensive and threatening to become even more expensive, taking a break from the constant pressure and enjoying that fantastic view in the inspiring company of seagulls... that is a bit of a dream come true.
There is a bitter sweet feeling around at present!
