I don't think you're wrong that VR is here, but I still think the mass market timeframes are misrepresented. That said, I'd love to be proven wrong :)

It's no different to any technology. Smart phones, mp3 players, consoles, tablets - all started off super expensive, but with exposure comes cheaper alternatives, and with cheaper alternatives comes down the price to compete.
