If you never published a post or comment using the VYB front-end, then you will not be invited to join the VYB Stewardship Board.
The board may be expanded sometime in the future. It is a 'stewardship' board. That means membership is geared toward those who are committed to the tribe, its future, and its ideals. We had to identify some initial criteria that would signal that kind of commitment. In the future, we hope to develop better 'stewardship' metrics. In fact, @calumam and I would like to eventually develop a 'Proof of Stewardship' (PoSt) governance model that can be emulated by other tribes. We are a ways off from being able to do that, though.
Tried to log in now to the front end with hivesigner, but it just dies after hivesigner redirects. Is it not working or still being built up ?
I'm not sure what specific problem you might be having. I was able to login to www.vybrainium.com with HiveSigner (using Brave browser). It does require the active-key to do that, though.
Personally, I recommend using HiveKeychain. I find it easier to use and more secure.
So I will have to wait ? or I can publish now onwards and I will be given a chance ? In fact, I am half way writing my first post there doing a direct log in. The redirect from Hivesigner just freezes on Firefox.
For a chance to join the VYB Stewardship Board (VSB), yes.
There will be no direct benefit to members of the VSB. They will simply be allowed to 'vote' on various questions related to how the community is to be organized.
There is no requirement that you use the www.vybrainium.com front-end. So don't worry about it if it's too hard. (I would still suggest you try Hive Keychain, though.)
Some tribes penalize people who do not post from their front-end. VYB does not do that.
When trying to establish the VYB Stewardship Board (VSB), we wanted a straightforward metric that demonstrated an individual's potential commitment to the tribe. Using the VYB front-end meant they were doing more than just adding the #vyb tag to their posts. That demonstrated a willingness to 'check out' the tribe in more detail.
At the current time, the front-end offers very few advantages over more advanced front-ends, like PeakD. (In fact, I am currently using PeakD for this reply -- I find it easier to use and I like its features.)
If and when we expand the VSB, we will likely be looking at other metrics.
