Pardon the punch line, but that's nothing but the truth. Inter Alia, the goal of every (true) Writer is to make things right through their craft, not primarily to make money, as many self-acclaimed writers do now.
Are you into writing just to make a decent living off your genius? Does narrative just makes you tick and you think you can make a few bucks off the craft, as a side gig?
Well yes, all these are possible, but they are never the reasons why true writers write. In fact, going into writing for these reasons delimits your scope in some type of way, because you are just money-conscious -- hence anything goes.
True Writers lend a voice to salient global issues of paramount importance, either to create an awareness about them or to address the inherent, topical problems therein. This single act makes them solutions providers instead of money-chasing Hustlers who only seek meager income from writing to sustain their lives.
If you are, therefore, into writing for the bucks, you'd have to take time to master the art of writing as an entrepreneur--not as a writer.
Be guided!
